Although the skills used to paint this sign are traditional, the paints were not. For maximum possible life, this sign was created using the same sort of two-pack polyurethane paints used on your car. It's not the cheapest option, but it will easily outlast a digitally printed sign, or a sign painted with the more usual and easier to use enamels.
